This Rimmel Glam’ Eyes Quad in 003 Smokey Purple looks incredible in the pan. The Colours look like they would make (as the name suggests) a pretty smokey purple eye. I was excited to try and recreate a cute smokey eye, but these shadows didn’t make that very easy.
The shadows were chalky and I found it very hard to pick up any colour on my brush. The pigmentation was also lacklustre and the lighter two colours almost have no pigmentation. I wanted it to be good as I thought it would be ideal for travel as the packaging is small and sleek. It’s not!
Even looking at it in these photos I keep thinking you look so pretty and the texture of the shadows with that quilted look. It could have been so much more.
Have you tried any Rimmel shadows? I have a few Mono shadows and a particular favourite of mine is 140 Precious Rose. I use this very soft pink as an all over the lid colour or with a darker eye look in the outer corner to brighten the eye and it has good pigmentation, but this quad was dire and I won’t be purchasing any more. I also wouldn’t recommend it.
I nearly brought this Rimmel one but I opted for Revlon’s smokey eye kit. Glad I didn’t now after reading this, shame it didn’t work for you though!

This is exactly what I found. The single eyeshadows are really good but the quads are rubbish! I’ve found that a lot with drugstore eyeshadows apart from Revlon, their quads are pretty good π
Those colours look super pretty, and look like they would complement brown eyes well. It’s a shame they’re rubbish, I’ve heard so many people complaining about their quads and praising their mono shadows. I’ve yet to try them to be honest.
I’ve been looking at these for a while but sad to see they’re not very pigmented! lovely, honest review which I read at just the right time I think lol!

I would save my money & buy Inglot shadows they are the best I have ever tried.
Thanks for the heads up! I’m sad the palette didn’t work out. They such nice colors and it’s definitely only ‘pretty in the pan’.

Such a shame as the colours look really nice, I was very disappointed
What a shame, it does look lovely in the pan but you can see on your fingers it isn’t a strong colour. There is nothing worse and I hate it when eye shadows flake off all over my face throughout the day.
Ah that’s such a shame, this is exactly the kind of quad I would be attracted to in the shop but I hate when the shadows don’t live up to expectation. I don’t mind light washes of colour but when something is this chalky and uneven, it’s such a disappointment & unusable – I don’t understand why companies are happy to put these on sale! xo
