Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Collection

Jurlique has completely revamped & remastered their iconic Herbal Recovery Range. Not only has the packaging received a (stunning) facelift but the new formulas are more potent, have a higher concentration of botanicals and the ingredients have all been meticulously selected to improve the overall appearance of dull, uneven skin. There are 5 products in this new range, including a serum, hydrating mist, eye cream, moisturising lotion and rich moisturising cream.

This collection focuses on minimising the signs of ageing, reducing dullness and helping your skin retain more moisture. As I Head into my 40’s this range this new Herbal Recovery Signature range is perfect for my skin type & immediate skin concerns.

New Jurlique Skincare Collection

I’ve been trying 2 out of the 5 products from this new collection and I’ve noticed a positive change in my skin. As we head into the more dry, cold weather of Autumn/Winter I think these products will really help replenish and nourish my skin.

At the heart of the new Herbal Recovery Signature range is a more potent signature blend of powerful botanical extracts. The Viola Tricolor is the pure Viola from Jurlique’s organic farm in the South Australian hills & they’re handpicked only when they’re at their peak.

  • Viola Tricolor: Our highest dose yet (more than triple) of our vital antioxidant botanical protects from signs of premature ageing
  • Yarrow rejuvenates and reduces the appearance of fine lines

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Cream

Jurlique Herbal Recover Signature Eye Cream

I hear a lot of talk about whether or not an eye cream is a necessity and although I don’t think it is vital I still like to use a product that has been specifically designed for this area. The skin around your eye is so delicate and particularly thin and prone to damage. It is where I show signs of being tired and dehydrated so I prefer to use a cream that can minimise these by plumping, hydrating and adding luminosity to my skin, an eye cream is a really good way of doing that. So if an eye cream is within your budget I would say it is a great (not mandatory) step in your skincare regime.

This new addition to my skincare routine from Jurlique is lovely and lightweight, it feels almost like a serum in texture. I pat it all around my orbital bone and on the tops of my cheekbones too and it gives my skin a boost of hydration and leaves my eye area looking fresh, more awake and it helps makeup/concealer sit so much better, I think it is because it plumps, smooths my fine lines and is super hydrating.

Rich, hydrating and bursting with plant antioxidants, this eye cream contains extracts of Yarrow, Japanese Cedar Bud and Beech Tree Bud to firm, re-energise the delicate skin around the eye. As well as combat those pesky fine lines.

The hero ingredient is Persian Silk Tree which minimises the appearance of puffiness, dark circles and smooths skin! Everything you need in an eye cream!

• 80% of women agree skin feels replenished and hydrated

• 88% of women agree skin feels firmer

I am taking this with me on my 40th birthday trip to Amsterdam, I will need all the help I can get to combat those late nights, effects of travelling and all the pollutants from a city break!

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Cream

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Lotion

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Lotion

If you like to use a lightweight moisturiser then this Herbal Recovery Moisturising Lotion will be right up your street, it’s not as heavy as your standard moisture cream and it won’t leave your skin feeling greasy. It has a very lightweight, fluid texture which is easily absorbed, it instantly makes my skin look fresh and feel so smooth. I like to use it as part of my morning routine as I find it works well under makeup but I prefer to use a heavier night cream. This lotion is jam-packed full of natural and effective age-defying botanicals including,

Cedar Bud Extract to help nourish and revitalise your skin’s glow, improves skins suppleness and reduces the visible signs of ageing. Yarrow, Viola Tricolor and Marshmallow Root replenish your complexion and smooths and softens skin helping reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Signature Range

It comes in a lovely pink ombre effect glass bottle with a pump dispenser, I’d say 3-4 pumps give me enough product for both my face & neck (and that is quite a generous amount of product).

• 80% of women agree Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Lotion reveals radiant younger-looking skin

I have really been enjoying using this moisturising lotion and would never have thought such a lightweight product could hydrate my skin so well. It has given my complexion a revived radiance (ideal as we head into the colder months) and I’m thrilled to have it in my skincare routine

Replenishing Skincare from Jurlique

I have to say the packaging is just stunning, I love the pink colour palette and the ombre effect adds a fresh modern look which I think It’s quite eye-catching.  Each product comes in a glass jar/bottle so it feels luxurious and has that quality feel to it. Top marks on the packaging for sure!

This new revamped version of Jurliques Iconic Herbal Recovery Collection contains their most concentrated formulas ever, optimised with advanced absorption, a more luxurious feel and a subtle scent inspired by the botanical drying shed at their Australian Farm. If you’re looking to add a few new products to your Autumn/Winter skincare regime then you might want to give this new Signature Collection a go.

Shopping My Stash September 2017

Shopping my Makeup Stash Sept-2017

Shopping my Makeup Stash Sept-2017

I have been reducing down my makeup collection for a good few months now & have found a good way to weed out products you don’t enjoy anymore is to rotate your makeup & shop your stash each month. That way you get to use more of what you have, discover products you may have forgotten about & also reaffirm why you might not reach for a particular product anymore & pass it on to free up space!

Doing this each month has helped me no end and it means at the end of the month I have condensed my collection down even further and It is becoming more manageable. I’m aiming to be left with only products I really love. #makeupgoals

Mii Power Matte Lip Creme in Eternity

I think I will just have to accept that 9/10 matte lip products are just not going to be comfortable on the lips. This one from Mii Cosmetics isn’t too bad if I put a crap tonne of lip balm underneath to lessen the blow. I suffer through (slightly dramatic) because this shade is just beautiful and it is such an easy shade to wear. I love it and I am willing put up with the tight, dry feeling on my lips. I am sure that most people wouldn’t find it that bad but I don’t often opt for a matte lip, however I have fallen for this nude shade in a big way.

Essence Blush Palette in Play it Peach

I adore this cheek trio but it has found it’s way to the back of my drawer, so I am excited to use it more. The shades are nice and subtle and you get two beautiful blush colours and a highlight shade. I often use the highlight shade as an eyeshadow too – I just sweep it all over the lid to brighten up my eye look and it works a treat.

Rosie for Autograph Cream Shadow Sticks in Feline Fox

I am going to be bold and say this cream shadow stick is my all time favourite and I don’t say that lightly. I have quite a few brands and shades in my collection but I always reach for this one. I took it away with me on my recent trip to Amsterdam and I wore it on a night out & my eyemakeup stayed in place all night long. This shade is a stunning deep bronze brown shade and you can either blend it out really well so it is quite light or go bold and wear it quite dark. Either way it doesn’t crease and it looks so good either on its own, under a powder shadow as base or worn as liner.

What Is In My Makeup Bag

Primer Plus Skin Adaptor Anti Pollution

This is a base that transforms to your skin colour to give you that fresh, even skintone. It isn’t going to give you the same coverage as a foundation but I like to wear this either under my base or alone as a lighter coverage. I would compare it too a tinted moisturiser, it gives you a nice amount of coverage whilst feeling hydrating and lightweight on the skin and it also leaves your skin looking smooth & beautifully radiant. I loved using it over the Summer so I am going to carry on using it as my everyday base. I love that it has helps protect my skin from the effects of pollution and free radicals.

Rimmel Brow This Way Styling Gel

This is the only brow product I have been using these past few months so it is no surprise that I am keeping it in my everyday makeup bag again this month. The brush is small enough that you don’t get product all over the place and are able to be quite precise with where you place the gel. It tames, enhances and keeps my brows in place all day so that ticks all the boxes for me.

Rimmel Wonderfull Mascara

Rimmel Wonderfull Mascara

This mascara helps to keep your lashes looking and feeling their best – it contains Argan Oil which is nourishing for your lashes and stops your mascara from going crispy and flaking. I have recommended this product to so many people this year and love how long and fluttery it makes my eyelashes look! My tube is almost finished so I wanted to keep it on rotation this month so I could use it up but spoiler, I am going to repurchase ASAP!

Current Daily Makeup

Essence The Cushion Eyeliner

I stopped wearing eyeliner earlier this year mostly because I am lazy but I think the colder months call for darker eye makeup so it is the perfect excuse to get my winged liner on! This Essence Cushion Liner is jet black and applies very smoothly, it isn’t as much of a phaff as you’d think, just make sure you have yourself a decent angled brush and take it slowly. Do not apply too much at once & I find I get the pointiest wings using this liner and it doesn’t bleed at all.

Rimmel Radiance Brick in Medium

I love these kind of multi-tonal powders & have a few in my collection from different brands and they are such so easy & effortless to use. I just swirl my brush through all the shades and sweep it across my cheeks & you get a lovely glowing, bronzed look. Think sunkissed & fresh faced rather than disco ball. I am not too sure how much I will use this in the colder months but I will apply it with a light hand – oh & I have used it as eyeshadow too, it works really well!

Essence Blush / Rimmel / Rosie / Mii Matte

What products have you switched in & out of your makeup bag this month? I bought a new foundation whilst I was in Amsterdam so I have been using that all the time this past couple of weeks. I will be spilling the beans on what it is in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for that. Al I will tell you is it was under £5.

Jurlique Activating Water Essence

Jurlique Activating Water Essence

Jurlique Activating Water Essence

We are seeing Asian beauty influences in so many products being released by Western brands, only last week I blogged about the latest Lancome Cushion Makeup and it seems that the latest trend to hit our skincare routines is the Essence. I had to do a little background reading on just what exactly an Essence was and how best to use it in my skincare regime.

I thought I had a pretty rigorous regime and didn’t realise that there was room for one more step, a step that the Asian market have deemed to be one of the most important. So an Essence is not a toner, nope its used after both cleansing and toning, it can replenish moisture, balance skins PH levels and help skin look glowing. You use your hands to pat the product into your skin and let the rich, nourishing ingredients work their magic. One of the latest to hit the market is the Activating Water Essence from Australian skincare brand Jurlique & I have been putting it to the test.

Jurlique Activating Water Essence* £40

I thought adding another step to my skincare routine would be pointless and even more time consuming but I have to say this extra step has become one of my favourites. The action of patting the product into my skin is quite relaxing and my skin has felt a lot better too since introducing this. This product activates your skin in 3 ways

  1. Hydrates – Delivers continuous hydration and lasting moisture
  2. Conditions – Smooths skin to provide a soft, supple complexion
  3. Revitalise – Revitalises and re-energises for healthy-looking skin

New Jurlique Skincare Release 2016

At the centre of its highly concentrated formula is their star ingredient – Marshmallow Root Extract, which is great at deeply hydrating skin and improving its ability to retain moisture. So what is it about Marshmallow Root that makes it such a good skincare ingredient,

Marshmallow Root Extract has been used throughout history as a healing treatment, it has anti inflammatory properties, its gentle and soothing on the skin whilst also being a natural hydrator.

The Marshmallow Root’s ability to attract and retain water allows it to provide lasting hydration to the skin. It forms a protective barrier that helps rebalance dry skin and prevent moisture loss to leave skin feeling soft and smooth.

Along side the Marshmallow Root there are also quite a few other natural ingredients including,

  • Neem – Conditions and soothes
  • Lavender – Hydrates and calms
  • Rosemary – Invigorates and restores
  • Horsetail – Hydrates and balances
  • Witch Hazel – Clarifies and firms
  • Nettle – Rebalances and refreshes
  • Peach Leaf – Revitalises, regenerates and protects

Since using this my skin doesn’t look as fatigued or dull and it has been really good at reducing the redness in my cheeks. I am pretty pleased to have this step in my routine and can see why it is so popular. This bottle is going to last ages, you only need to splash a few drops into your hands and because it is so fluid a little goes a long way.

Let me know if you already have this step in your routine & if you’re a fan of any other Korean / Japanese beauty regimes or products.

Viktor & Rolf BonBon Couture EDP

Beautiful New BonBon Couture Fragrance

Viktor & Rolf BonBon Couture

I’m a long time fan of Victor & Rolf fragrances and have repurchased their iconic FlowerBomb scent too many times to count, I think their fragrances are beautifully feminine and very pretty. The original BONBON scent was extremely popular and is more on the sweet side but this new more intense addition to the BONBON family is perfect if you like your perfume to be a little more intense and whilst it’s still sweet it settles down to be more of a rich, warm, sexy scent.

Viktor & Rolf BONBON Couture*

Fragrance Notes:

  • Top Notes: Mandarin Orange, Neroli, Peach
  • Heart Notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine Sambac, Caramel
  • Base Notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vanilla, White Tobacco

This perfume has great staying power and I could still smell it on myself after a full day. I would also say that it works well as both as a day and an evening scent.

New Viktor & Rolf BonBon Couture

The outer cardboard packaging (which I can’t bare to throw away) is a bright fuchsia pink with the classic black V&R faux wax seal at the centre of a pretty ribbon effect. The bottle itself is just gorgeous, it comes in a pretty purple / pink ombre effect bottle which feels very luxurious and heavy. It is shaped like a wrapped sweet (candy), its very feminine and looks pretty sat on your dressing table.

I think If you like Flowerbomb I think you’re going to fall in love with BONBON Couture too.

Viktor & Rolf BONBON Couture

Beautiful New BonBon Couture Fragrance

Its always so hard to describe a fragrance and recommending scents is difficult because perfumes are a very personal product. So don’t just take my word that this is a really pretty perfume, you need to pop along to your nearest perfume counter and test it out for yourself. Let me know if you like it and also which is your favourite Viktor & Rolf fragrance.
