Updating My Perfume Collection

Accessorize Lovelily Perfume-

I don’t actually own too many perfumes, I try to keep my collection small and actually use them before they pass their best. Fragrance can quite often be very expensive and often that can lead you to only using them sparingly or for special occasions. I like to use my perfumes every day and so it is nice when you can have a nice mix of good quality affordable options as well as more luxe options too.

I want to introduce you to, two affordable scents from two very well known high street shops, both perfumes have slotted well into my collection and have been seeing a lot of use!

Accessorize Lovelily Fragrance

Affordable Fragrance Monsoon Rose Gold

Accessorize Love Lily

I used to use Accessorize makeup all the time and always loved the fun, feminine packaging, so I was excited to try their signature scent. This Love Lily fragrance would make a lovely everyday scent, it is nicely subtle and settles to wear for quite a few hours before the need to reapply. It is incredible value for money and the bottle is beautiful.

The perfume comes in a pretty hexagonal bottle, it is quite weighty and is finished with a pink floral stopper. Out of the two perfumes, this does have more of a youthful feel, I think it is because the scent is fruity and sweet. It features notes of raspberry, orange, jasmine and sweet vanilla.

If you enjoy scents that are juicy, fresh and fairly sweet you need to add this to your collection. Don’t think this is going to be sickly sweet because it is not at all, the zesty fruit and floral jasmine help to give it a twist.

Beautiful Affordable Perfume

Monsoon Rose Gold Fragrance

Monsoon Rose Gold

The Monsoon Rose Gold is very different from the Accessorize Love Lily. The bottle is more understated and elegant and the scent is sophisticated and sexy. That is how I have justified keeping both – this one makes a beautiful evening scent. So I now have new scents for both day & night.

What I like about the Rose Gold fragrance is that it has more of a warm, sexy scent and neroli and musk are two of my favourite notes. They add a masculine feel. These notes work so well alongside the rose, lemon and vanilla which give it that zesty, sweet twist.

  • Top notes of sparkling lemon, soft fruit and ozonic scents
  • Heart notes of velvety rose, tuberose, neroli and cyclamen
  • Base notes of Eastern woods, vanilla, mosses, musk and balsamic amber

Once it has settled down it smells beautiful, not too heavy but it lasts well on me. I can still smell it on my scarf 4 days after I’d sprayed it.

Both scents are affordable are very pretty. They’re very different in terms of scent and I do feel like the Accessorize Love Lily would be perfect for late teens early 20’s. The Monsoon Rose Gold has a slightly more romantic, sophisticated feel but that being said I have enjoyed them both.

Perfume is down to personal taste & I always recommend trying them out for yourself. So if you get chance to pop into a Monsoon or Accessorize store give them a whirl and let me know your thoughts.

Monsoon Rose Gold is £24 for 30ml, or £35 for 100ml

Accessorize Love Lily is £19 for 74ml

Ted Baker Christmas Treats

Ted Baker A Regency Romance Collection

Packaged ready to pop into the stocking of someone special this Regency Romance Collection from Ted Baker is just adorable. Reflecting the Britishness of Ted Baker this collection is a nod to Regency Britain and the packaging  features quintessentially English Regency House designs. It’s so pretty, not to mention the sweet bulldogs inside each box. What a lovely touch that is.

This Regency Romance Collection consists of three scents, and each of the three scents has a matching Body Wash & Body Lotion. No 1 Bridlesmith Gate & No 1 Langley Court, No 2 Regents Square & Upperbrook Mews and No 3 Furburts Place & Brompton Crescent. They come in pretty pastel coloured packaging which is subtle and looks luxurious.

I’ve been trying out two products from the range

No2 Upperbrook Mews Body Lotion*

With an air of lady-like glamour, sweet sugary tones of nude pink with neon accents are used to present the delightful No 2 collection. With a sumptuous mix of freesia, peach and amber, this Body Wash and Lotion will ensure you dazzle from morning to evening.

This is a lovely lightly scented body lotion, so it’s not going to take away from your perfume. It smells fresh, floral & quite sophisticated. I love that it has a pump, this makes it so easy to use and ensures you get just the right amount of product. It has a light creamy consistency and I like that the formula isn’t too thick it makes it easy to apply to your skin, and it absorbs quickly too. I have been using it on my upper body more as I like how this lotion is light and not greasy on my skin. I tend to use a body oil on my legs as they get very dry.

No3 Brompton Crescent Body Wash*

Fragranced with a lavish blend of lemon, jasmine and amber crystal teamed with fresh shades of mint green, No 3 is a little touch of luxury that will leave you feeling royally pampered.

This is my favourite of the two scents I’ve tried, it smells floral and would be perfect for Spring & bright sunny mornings. The scent is uplifting and quite fragrant. If you like your body wash to lather up then this is for you, it leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. I have been using it most mornings as I refuse to accept Winter is here. This is my little slice of Spring. This also comes with a pump, which is so convenient in the shower. I wish all body products came with a pump, that would make everything so much easier.

Ted Baker A Regency Romance

Ted Baker always releases great collections, and especially at Christmas. If you’re looking for a Secret Santa gift or just something beautiful but budget friendly, then I recommend checking out this Regency Romance Collection. It’s beautifully packaged and the scents I have tried would work well for anyone.

The new Ted Baker Regency collection is now available from selected Boots stores nationwide and online at www.boots.com
