Lord & Berry Makeup Team Nude

Lord & Berry Nude Lips

Lord & Berry Nude Lips

I have been trying a few products from Lord & Berry, I already own a few of their lip Twistick Lip Crayons and absolutely love how pigmented and comfortable they feel on the lips. So I was excited to try out a trio of nude / neutral friendly products from them.

Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Khol Eyeliner in Nude*

This is one of those products which makes you look instantly more awake and gives a healthy brightness to your eyes. I apply it to my lower lash line and it doesn’t look unnatural or too stark, it gives the illusion that your eyes are bigger, brighter and just all together healthier. I think a nude liner is a must in any makeup bag. It also works well under your brows to help them look a little tidier, more defined and gives your brow bone a subtle highlight. The formulation is creamy and easy to apply, no dragging and it wears quite a long time too. Such a versatile product.

If you’re familiar with the Rimmel Scandaleyes Pencil in Nude then this Lord & Berry offering is much lighter and more of a soft bright cream nude, the Rimmel one is more beige nude. I have to say I prefer this Lord & Berry one, it looks more natural and adds more brightness.

Lord & Berry Tanned Nude Ultimate Lip Liner

I only own two lip liners and I have to say I didn’t think I would get much use out of this one. Its a tawny brown nude shade and I haven’t been using it to line my lips so much, but instead using it to fill in all of my lips. It makes such a great base to help lipstick last for hours! This has quite a creamy formula and despite it drying matte it feels comfortable on the lips. I have been using it under my Urban Decay lipstick in BackTalk and they make a great duo. I guess you can’t go wrong with a nude lipliner and its a shade that is easy to wear.

Lord & Berry Crayon Lipstick 20100 in Prelude*

This is a beautiful soft rosy brown shade, it finishes to a creamy matte finish & let me tell you this lip crayon has amazing staying power! I love that this isn’t your typical nude but instead has a subtle rose look to it, its creamy to apply and with it being a crayon its so quick and effortless. The colour is pigmented and doesn’t look too dark on the lips but you a nice rich warm pop of colour. Its great if like me you have quite a pale complexion, it helps warm up your look and give you that healthy but quite subtle nude lip. This isn’t a twist up crayon so you will need to sharpen it but I have to say its a great quality matte lip colour and I am a huge fan of a lip crayon so it is safe to say this shade has been well loved these past few weeks.

Ready To Wear Makeup Review

Ready To Wear Makeup Ready to Wear Mascara and Eyeliner

I have been using two products from a brand called Ready To Wear Beauty which as of this January is being sold on Ideal World TV. Its an American makeup brand which I had never heard of before. They seem to have quite a selection of natural wearable makeup and I was kindly sent a Mascara and Eyeliner to try out.

Ready To Wear Beauty Precision Eyeliner in black*

This eyeliner has a very fine nib, as the name suggests its really good for achieving that thin & close to the lashes precision liner. I like to wear eyeliner most days but don’t always want a dramatic thick liner look so I tend to use a liner that has a precise nib. I found with this liner that the nib wasn’t quite long enough for me, I prefer a little more length so I can lay it flat along the lash line & almost print on first where I want to draw the line & that was hard to do with a short nib.

I did like how precise the nib was & that it didn’t blunt or go soft. The liner glided on & didn’t drag but I did find the product sunk into the wrinkles / creases on my eyelid (so it didn’t sit very well). If you go back over with the liner a few times it helps but if this is meant to be a ‘Ready To Wear’ eyeliner I would have liked it to apply a little better first time round.

Also I wouldn’t say this eyeliner was an intense black, if like me you like your liner to be jet black this isn’t for you. It does last all day without transferring or smudging so thats a plus. I just wasn’t won over by the liner, it has a few great things about it but it just didn’t sit very well on my eyelids & the colour wasn’t black enough for me.

Ready To Wear Beauty

Ready To Wear Mascara*

This is perfect for achieving natural fluttery eyelashes. This isn’t a mascara that will make your lashes look fake or give them length but it does coat each individual lash and gives the illusion you have thicker lashes. Its quite a wet formula and it doesn’t clump or flake throughout the day and you don’t get crispy lashes. It was also good at holding a curl which I really liked.

The wand was quite big & picked up every lash, it was easy to work right down to the bed of the lashes. I have really enjoyed using this & its been in my makeup bag for a few weeks now. So if you’re looking for a black mascara that looks quite natural & which you can wear on a daily basis this is a winner.

No eye makeup

With no eye makeup other than a touch of cream eyeshadow & in the after photos below I have the eyeliner & mascara on. I need to get better at perfecting my cat eye flicks.

So I loved the Ready To Wear Beauty mascara but I would say to give the eyeliner a miss unless you have youthful eyelids with no creasing or wrinkles. Let me know if you’ve heard of this brand or have tried anything from them. I would love to hear your recommendations.

I have my eye on their lipstick trio and think the colours look subtle & pretty. Right up my street.

Unknown Territory

Urban Decay

I love to wear eyeliner, especially black eyeliner I feel a little odd without it on. My go to weapon of choice is liquid liner, I like the ease of a pen like nib and have mastered my flicks using this method but that was before I discovered this Urban Decay Supersaturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner*.

Urban Decay Cream Eyeliner

Super Saturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner

What I like about this Cream Liner is that you can really smudge it out to create a sultry smokey eye look. I thought I’d struggle to get used to applying this, as I’m used to the pen nib and this is applied with an angled brush, but after a few shaky and heavy handed mishaps I got used to the ease at which this applies. It only takes a light hand as the formula is creamy and glides on with no dragging. Perversion is a deep intense black shade, the deep rich colour lasts all day and my gosh does it stay put once it has dried. This is heavy duty. It does take me a little longer to apply than my liquid liner but I think this has more staying power and it can be built up to a more dramatic look so if I have time I do like to use this.

I used the Urban Decay Perversion Angled Brush, the brush is light and easy yo use, it is nicely angled to give ease of application and doesn’t pick up too much product at once which is good for achieving a more subtle look but you can use the brush to build up the product to make the line thicker and more dramatic. The brush is soft to the touch but the bristles are stiff enough to make sure the liner goes exactly where you want it. It’s easy to control how thick/thin the line is and they make a great team. The brush is made of synthetic bristles.

This swatch is just one stroke of the brush, no rubbing or going over & over. It is very intense.

This eyeliner comes in a nice glass pot with a screw lid, its slim and travel friendly but you get a good amount of product in there & boy does a little bit go a long way! This is going to last me a very long time.

Urban Decay say ‘this features triple black pigments for the purest, deepest, most intense black colour’ and I have to say this is the most intense black eyeliner I have used to date. Its as black as night. (Now I am singing Rolling Stones). This eyeliner also contains nourishing Jojoba Oil which is moisturising and makes the liner creamy and easy to apply.

Do you use any of the Urban Decay Eyeliners? If so let me know which ones you would recommend.

Super Saturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner £16 and can be found in Debenhams, House of Fraser. Online at beautybay.com, lookfantastic.com and hqhair.com

Currently With Me

Always with me

Makeup

I try to change up makeup that I use, if I didn’t I’d wear the same products all the time. So here are a few products I have been using these past couple of weeks & what I have had with me in my handbag.

Mac Select Sheer Pressed Powder NW25 12g for £20 – This powder is great on top of my foundation. It gives me a very flawless finish without looking too heavy or overdone. It gives me a little added coverage and it is keeps me shine free. The compact has a mirror and is sleek and durable. So great to throw into your handbag.

Me Me Me Sweep Precision Eyeliner £6.50 – I’m trying to use this up as I’ve had it on the go for a while. I like it for quite a dramatic eye look. Its nib is easy to use and as the name suggests, good for a precise line. I use this for getting a cat flick look. I have it in black and its very deep black, but not waterproof. I would recommend it if you like using liquid liner.

Bath & Body Works Pocket Bac in Sweet Pea – I love these. This one smells so good and they’re very handy to have with you.

Lipstick

Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy CC Lipstick* 510 Dolci £25 – This is the creamiest most hydrating lipstick I have ever used. This colour is perfect for the Autumn and I feel so swish using it. The product is lovely & the so too is the packaging with its magnetic lid, Armani Logo and bright glossy red bullet. These are luxurious but if you are a lipstick lover then you will enjoy wearing these.

Cat Mirror – Just too cute to leave behind!

Valentina by Valentino – This is quite a sweet perfume. More of a summer fragrance, not one I would purchase in full size. My mum likes it though.

MUA Blush Shade 4 – I have a few of these and for £1 they are great. I don’t like carrying my more expensive blushes with me as I’m so clumsy and tend to break them, so these MUA ones are great for that & they’re pretty. This one is such a wearable peach colour and I rediscovered it this month. What MUA blushes would you recommend?

inmybag11

e.l.f Kabuki Face Brush £6 – I always carry this with me as it is such a multi purpose brush. Great for blush and powder, it’s also small and fits well in my makeup bag. I need to buy  a backup of this.

Nivea Lip balm – Good for this time of year as I get such dry lips.

Benefit Badgal Mascara £17.50 – Not a fan of this, I feel like it doesn’t grab my lashes & hardly any product goes on them. It takes ages to build up any volume. Wouldn’t buy the full size of this.

So thats what I have been using this past week. Some products I love & others I am trying to use up so I can open something new.
