Roses on Valentines Day doesn’t just have to mean flowers…..right!? Let me introduce to you to the beautiful Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil*, this is such a skincare treat.
I really enjoy using a facial oil in my skincare routine although I often think people are worried about oils leaving their skin too greasy or that they’re too heavy but there is a facial oil to suit all skin types and treat many skin concerns. I think it’s a step that everyone should introduce to their routine. Oils penetrate the skin at a deeper level than creams and are often a fantastic way of protecting skin against free radicals, give deeper hydration and rejuvenate dull complexions.
I have been testing a beautiful Rose Quartz Oil from Skin Chemists and it has become a staple in my skincare routine as it is packed full of skin loving ingredients which are helping restore my natural healthy glow and leaves my skin feeling velvety soft.
The main active ingredients in the formulation are:
1) Rose Otto Oil helps to restore moisture balance in the skin. Its anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant properties aim to repair and protect the skin, whilst firming and toning.
2) Vitamin E aims to reduce skin damage, whilst protecting against daily damage.
3) Almond Oil works to provide deep hydration and nourishment, brightening and renewing the appearance of the skin.
It is a lightweight feel, more like water than an oil, it is so nice to massage into the skin and I love the uplifting floral scent, it’s beautiful. I like to apply two or three drops to my skin in the evening and it helps me wake up with skin that looks well rested and refreshed. Although I do also like to add a drop to my moisturiser and apply after my serum in the morning because it adds just the little extra hydration to my skin. I like that it helps my makeup apply smoothly too. I think because of its light non-greasy consistency you can use this morning or night, or both!
It comes beautifully packaged in a bright pink box and inside is a simple glass bottle with a pipet dispenser. It feels luxurious and the fact the product has a pretty pink hue is nice too, feels very pretty.
So if you’re looking for a product to give your skin a boost of anti-oxidants, hydration and radiance then this is the product for you. Why not treat yourself this Valentines Day!
During the month of February, this Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil will be reduced from £99 to £24.99 which is an incredible saving & just for a little extra 20% off you can use my codeLETSTALKBLOG which will make this oil just £19.99!
Make sure you check out the rest of the Rose Quartz Collection too as there are savings across the whole range!
I hadn’t told my Mum that I’d found my HG facial oil but when she told me my skin was looking healthy and glowing I knew I wasn’t wrong about this product. I had thought to myself that my skin was looking and feeling brighter, my complexion more even and generally healthier but you never believe it until someone else points it out.
I’m completely sold on this 100% Cacay Oil Facial Oil from Oils of Heaven. It works so well on my skin and I’ve been wearing it day & night. I do like to apply a drop or two throughout the day too, when I’m not wearing any makeup. Cacay Oil has a high content of vitamin A, vitamin E and Linoleic Acid (omega-6) which are all proven to have effective results in skincare.
I did review these Oils of Heaven last week, if you’d like to have a read of that & get a little more information.
OK, so I really like my Benefit Gimme Brow but I live in a REALLY small town and its not that easy to get hold of & it can be a little pricey. So I had heard a few good things about the Essence Make Me Brow and had my fingers crossed that it could be a good dupe. Excitingly I can say, YES it is a damn good dupe & its only £2.50, I am thrilled with the quality and the colour match for my brows is so good. It gives good colour and hold to my brows, I bloody love it. I’s available in 3 shades and I have the darkest one. If you have an Essence counter near you then buy one & test it out for yourself. Its my number 1 favourite product this month.
Essence Blush Up in Pinky Flow
I have a few of these Essence Blushers, this one is a really pretty everyday option. It’s a trio of pink shades from a deep pink to a light soft pink. Its not too pigmented but you can build it up if you like to a more intense colour. I don’t like to wear too much blush, simply because I have quite a rosy complexion & I don’t want to draw too much attention to it. This is a silky soft formula and it blends out well. I wouldn’t say its the longest wearing but I love this colour its so subtle and fresh on the skin.
I like this perfume a lot, its such a fresh, feminine scent. It has notes of stephanotis jasmine, orange blossom, cedar and neroli. So it has a sweet, floral very fresh scent. I have been wearing this most days, its a really light daytime scent which lasts a very long time on me. I can smell it hours after I apply it. The bottle is also very pretty and sweet, I like to have this out on my vanity area.
Goodbye tired, puffy eyes! This is one of the first products I reach for once I’ve cleansed my skin in the morning. I like to keep it in my fridge so it stays extra cold & is soothing on my eyes. This is a roller ball that you apply to your under eyes to help de puff, wake up & hydrate that area. It feels so nice, especially when you’re struggling to wake up on those early mornings. It has Cucumber to cool and sooth, Yeast to de puff & Hoelen Mushroom Extract to calm. So for a little extra help banishing those under eye bags & dark circles this is a great product to have in your skincare stash.
Nails Inc Gel One Coat Nail Polish in Chiltern Park*
This is truly a one coat nail polish, its opaque and vibrant without having to apply more than one coat. I love this bright pink shade and its gorgeous on my toes, its going to be my Summer polish of choice. It wears well and looks glossy and really vibrant. I do enjoy Nails Inc polishes but this was the first time using one of their Gel One Coat polishes & I was impressed.
Micellar waters are great if you wear quite heavy eye makeup and like to remove the bulk of it before you cleanse. I have found the Garnier ones to be the best I have tried, they now do a few versions for different skin types but I think they’re all pretty much alike. This one in the blue bottle is for removing waterproof makeup & I have to say its pretty damn good. You don’t have to tug or rub at your eyes, just hold the cotton pad on your eye for about a minute and gently wipe the makeup away. Its also very good at removing lip stains & matte lip products. This new Garnier skinactive version is a bi phase formula so you need to make sure you shake it up first. You get a lot of product for your money and a bottle lasts me a couple of months. This is fragrance free and contains no alcohol.
I simply love this product, its like liquid silk. Its a serum blended with a combination of oils including sunflower, jojoba, marula, soya, and sesame and it also has wheatgerm oil which is high in antioxidants. I use a couple of drops in my evening skincare routine when my skin is looking dull and dryer than normal. I massage a few drops on to clean skin and let it work its magic whilst I sleep. Its great at hydrating and reviving my skin and making it look like its well rested and radiant. This is so affordable and a lovely product to have in your skincare routine. I love the Vitamin E range but this is by far my favourite product from the range.
Lacura Anti Ageing Handcream With Argan Oil
Lacura is Aldi’s skincare brand so all their products are affordable, I like quite a few of their products but have been using this a tonne over the past few weeks. I am not 100% keen on the scent of this hand cream but I like how non greasy it is. I use hand cream so often throughout the day I just can’t deal when it leaves my hands feeling tacky or greasy so its important I have one that instantly absorbs and lets me get on with what I am doing without having to wait for it to dry down. This Lacura one from Aldi does just that and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft.
This face wash has a gel like consistency and lots of tiny soft scrub beads which are great for lightly exfoliating your skin. They’re not at all abrasive or scratchy. I like that it feels cooling on my skin and is lovely to massage in and really give your skin a thorough cleanse leaving it looking radiant. I rinse this off with a hot cloth and its great at removing makeup without leaving my skin feeling tight or dry. It smells so good too, really uplifting and fresh. I have a huge bottle of it too which has lasted me so long & I’m only about half way through it.
Let me know what your favourite affordable skincare products are.
As many of you know I’m a big fan of Jurlique skincare. So I was thrilled when they asked me to be a part of their #12DaysofGlow campaign, which also Involves some of my favourite bloggers including Pixiwoo and Tales of a Pale Face to name a few. I’m day 9, if you want to see the other reviews click this link #12DaysofGlow (after you have read mine of course).
Being in my late 30’s the lovely skincare experts at Jurlique matched me up to their limited edition Purely Age Defying Gift Set* whichis one of theirskincare ranges aimed at people 35+, it targets the first visible signs of ageing. Its skincare that helps promote the regeneration of Elastin, Collagen and New Skin Cells, to keep your skin glowing and looking wonderful.
Before I talk about the products themselves I have to acknowledge the packaging for the Jurlique Gift Sets, they look luxurious and utterly beautiful. The gift set has a lovely festive red sleeve that slips off to reveal a beautiful gift box. The box is wood effect & is of great quality, its a box that you will be able to reuse and keep your treasures in. I know I will be keeping mine, its too pretty not too.
Inside you get 3 full size products from the Purely Age-Defying Range. So it is a great introduction to the range.
This is a luxurious feeling face cream, it comes in a beautiful white frosted glass jar with a contrasting black lid. The cream feels quite thick but it doesn’t sit heavy on the skin, when you first apply it to your face and neck it feels a little greasy but give it a minute and your skin will have absorbed it to leave you with a velvety soft finish. Its so nourishing and instantly smoothing. It contains powerful natural ingredients such as,
Yeast Extract helps to promote collagen synthesis and acts as a tissue restructuring and repair agent. Amino Acid Lipid Complex promotes skin remodeling and contraction of collagen fibers. Rock Samphire Extract supports skin density while reducing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. Beech Tree Bud Extract accelerates the production of fresh new cells.
So your skin will feel the benefit of all those wonderful powerful ingredients working to increase skin firmness, skin tone and hydration levels. After using this for almost 5 weeks I have noticed my skin is plumper, smoother and brighter. The thing you will notice almost straight away is that your skin looks smoother, thats why I think it makes the perfect base for foundation. It helps give you that flawless base.
This eye cream is a little thicker than the face cream but is just as easy to massage in, I do like to use this at night as when I do I wake up with almost no puffiness around my eyes, the skin looks less dehydrated and that means my fine lines are on the decrease! That makes me very happy. I do suffer from fine lines when my under eyes are dehydrated and having an eye cream that helps combat that means my concealer sinks into my lines less & my eyes show less signs of fatigue.
This eye cream is formulated with Blue Algae Extract and Baobab Fruit Pulp Extract which increases skin firmness to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Jurlique’s renowned Eyebright Extract is blended with Arnica to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles whilst Vitamin C protects the delicate skin from environmental aggressors.
I would say if you have very sensitive eyes this may irritate them, as it has quite a noticeable herbal scent, its been fine for me and I’ve experienced no stinging or irritation, just something to note if you’re normally sensitive to fragranced skincare around your eyes.
Now this is the jewel in the crown for me, I love the other two products in this set & think they work well together but I’m just in love this the Face Oil. I love how little product you need and how soft it leaves my skin feeling. In the evening I can’t wait to cleanse my makeup off just so I can put this on and let it work its magic (although its not magic its science). In the morning my skin is looking its best (thats how best I can describe it). This oil is the key to a great skin day.
Like the other products in this range it contains powerful natural ingredients,
Jurlique’s Age Repair Biodynamic+ Blend helps to deeply replenish the skin and improve the skin tone whilst diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Purely Age Defying Firming Face Oil is also infused with a trio of potent anti-ageing ingredients; Blackcurrant Seed Oil helps to improve elasticity and firmness, Buriti Oil reduces fine lines and wrinkles and Rock Samphire Extract helps to support collagen synthesis and promotes a firmer complexion.
I love using face oils but this has worked its way to the top of the tree & I have been singing its praises for the past month. Although the visible results speak for themselves, I have had quite a few people say my skin is looking good & I have been putting it down to this range & in particular this oil. Its love.
This set would be an ideal gift for anyone 35+ who’s concerned about the first signs of ageing, or anyone that is looking for products that will keep their skin hydrated and improve both skin tone and hydration. This Purely Age-Defying Favourites Gift Set is £90 and available online here.
Products that are marked with an * have either been sent to me for my consideration or I’ve received at events. I’m under no obligation to review them on my blog. However if I do, the reviews are 100% my own.
