As I get older I always say to family & friends “let’s not do gifts this year lets just get together and enjoy a meal and a few drinks”. I especially love Christmas for giving us so many excuses to spend time together and it makes me so grateful for all the amazing people I have in my life. That being said it is nice to have something under the tree to open on Christmas morning even if it just one lovely gift, and my husband always gets the most thoughtful presents for me. I like to ask for something special, something I don’t often buy myself and for me that is perfume.
A fragrance for me is such a treat and that’s what makes it the perfect gift to both give and receive. There are so many incredible scents and this year I wanted to add back to my collection a scent that I used to wear a lot a few years ago. We all have that one perfume which never gets old and that for me is Marc Jacobs Daisy. It is such an iconic scent and the bottle is instantly recognisable with the cap adorned with pretty daisies, I haven’t owned it for so long but I’m thrilled to have it for 2018.
It is beautiful, timeless fragrance and one that can be worn by all ages. It is such a mix of fruity, floral and fresh notes that it never smells overpowering of too intense. It reminds me of so many happy moments, birthdays, holidays and getting my job at RBS. It has been a favourite of mine for so long and it was my Mum that first introduced me to it and she still wears it too, so we have the same great taste in perfume.
Top notes of wild berries and soft white violets
Heart notes of velvety jasmine
Base notes of sandalwood

This has been in my handbag these past few weeks and I have loved wearing it. This has a value of over £40!
This is a great gift set for anyone who has normal to dry skin. The smoothing cream is extremely hydrating and rich but not too heavy or greasy. It’s ideal for these colder months & you also get a cleansing gel and a mitt. So its a lovely trio.

I love to burn candles all year round but my favourite ones are the spicy and woody more festive scents, they makes me feel cosy and my house smells like Christmas. I thought I would share with you some of the candles that are on my Christmas Candle Wishlist. Apart from the Cinnamon Yankee Candle I haven’t tried any of these but they all sound right up my street.
I have always wanted a NEOM Candle and the three wick ones look and sound so luxurious. The Timothy Dunn festive offering would also be such a treat and that gold jar would be beautiful to reuse after you had burnt the candle. Let me know if you have tried anything off my the Festive Candles Wishlist.
I also think candles make great gifts, everyone loves a candle and you can always find a lovely one within your budget. I am hoping to get a couple from my wishlist under my Christmas tree this year. Let me know if you have any favourite Christmas candles.
I love having candles burning and think a nice scented candle can lift your mood and make your home smell amazing. I was so excited to receive this Neal & Wolf Indulgence Scented Candle*, especially after reading lots of amazing reviews.
From the get-go this candle felt luxurious, the outer packaging is a pretty soft clean magnolia colour with just the name of the candle on and when you open the box and see the candle is in a deep purple jar it is a lovely surprise. It looks beautiful sitting on my sideboard. I really like the colour!
When you open the box you can already smell the scent and if you’re familiar with the haircare range from Neal & Wolf you will recognise it instantly. It smells so luxurious, like an expensive Spa. They have developed the scent in a Perfume House and have really come up with a relaxing, luxurious scent that fills not only the room the candle is burning but the whole house. My husband says he can smell it even when it isn’t lit.
Neal & Wolf describe this a lot better than I ever could ‘It bursts with mandarin and orange blossom until it melts to floral aromas of lily, ylang-ylang and orchid‘
I find the scent relaxing and I like to burn this when I am in the bath, I keep it lit for around an hour and find that you can still smell its fragrance long after it has been blown out. I like to trim the wick after each use to ensure it burns clean. This candle doesn’t give off any soot and is lasting me well. This Neal and Wolf Candle has up to 45 hours burn time.
I think it would make a gorgeous gift (my mum has been dropping hints that she wants one) or even as a treat for yourself. This is perfect if you love luxury candles, this is a candle that won’t break the bank and that will make your house smell amazing Go on treat yourself x
