New Gallinee Skincare

Gallinee Skincare

Gallinee Skincare

Gallinée’s first range, LA CULTURE has grown in popularity since it was first launched earlier this year. This brand was the brainchild of Marie Drago, a French Doctor in Pharmacy and a member of the French Society of Cosmetic Science, with over 15 years’ experience working with successful and innovative skincare brands.

Gallinée is skincare that’s designed to work in harmony with our skins own microbiome (the name for all good bacteria and microorganisms that live on and in your body), I like to say this brand is where Science Meets Skincare. With their patented complex of prebiotics, probiotics and lactic acid, your skin is in very good hands, (see graphic below).

The La Culture range is bursting with active ingredients at levels where they really make a difference. At the centre of their skincare is their patented Triple Biotec Complex and

TRIPLE BIOTIC COMPLEX:  A high concentration of our patented mix of prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics helps to support your microbiome in the most gentle and effective way possible.

Gallinée La Culture Hand Cream* £13

I have been using two products from the lovely La Culture range the Hand Cream is my favourite out of the two simply because even within 6 weeks I have noticed a real change in how my hands feel and look. This isn’t a cream targeted at making your hands look younger but they will feel nourished, softer, more supple, hydrated and visibly smoother. I apply this morning, noon and night, I always have it close by and like how instantly it’s absorbed but also leaves my hands with that soft nourished feeling.

This cream also protects against external, environmental aggressors and contains these skin loving ingredients

DAISY EXTRACT: A powerful active used for its brightening properties, daisy extract also helps prevent the onset of dark spots.

SHEA BUTTER: A hydrating and protective natural ingredient that can also help with micro-circulation.

It’s a wonderful lightweight hand cream that never feels greasy or that needs reapplying too often. It’s very affordable too, make sure you make a note to check it out if you’re on the lookout for a new hand cream.

Gallinee Skincare Complex

Gallinee La Culture Skincare

Gallinée La Culture Hydrating Face Cream* £35

I have also been enjoying using the Hydrating Face Cream which leaves my skin smooth and hydrated. This as with all the products in this collection contains the Triple biotech Complex (see graphic above), as well as these skin-loving ingredients.

YACON EXTRACT: A root hailing from the same family as Jerusalem artichokes, yacon contains one of the largest amounts of prebiotic found in natural plants. In Central America, it is often used as a natural sugar. Gallinée’s yacon is cold-pressed to retain its qualities.

ORGANIC MYRTLE EXTRACT: Sourced from the French Mediterranean region, myrtle is a plant containing a large number of phenolic compounds; well-known for their antioxidant actions, to protect skin from oxidative stress.

It is a lovely cream, especially if you are prone to dry, dehydrated skin. Its gentle and non-greasy formula feels lightweight on the skin and provides a really smooth base for makeup. I noticed especially how soft my skin felt after using this and how throughout the day my skin felt really hydrated.

I’m excited to see what products Gallinee will release next and I am impressed by their first collection. Its innovative and I like that they have harnessed the enormous benefits of helpful bacteria and created a very effective skincare brand with this at its very centre.

Gallinée skincare is available at Harvey Nichols, Beauty Expert, Look Fantastic, Feel Good Matters & Beauty Mart

Leafy & Lovely Valentine’s Gifts

Leafy & Lovely Superdrug Exclusive Brand

Leafy & Lovely Valentine Gift Ideas

Leafy & Lovely is a brand thats exclusive to Superdrug, they’re an affordable brand that do really pretty gifts. They have a small but sweet range available this Valentines Day, so if you’re still looking for a few gifts then you might want to head to your local Superdrug.

Floral Hand Lotion

Leafy & Lovely Floral Hand Lotion* £1.00

How beautiful is the packaging for this hand lotion! It looks a lot more luxurious than I would expect as it is only £1. The bright red detailing on the box looks so pretty and I like that its quite a simple but bold design. I am all about the packaging and this brand has ticked all the boxes. The hand lotion comes in a really sweet tube with a Valentines Design & its the perfect size for your handbag, its slim and the tube is durable and won’t get bashed or damaged in there. It does have a light floral scent but nothing too overpowering, you will need to give the lotion a minute or two to absorb into your hands but after it has they’re left feeling hydrated and smooth.

This is such a lovely hand lotion and I can’t get over how affordable it is. These would make thoughtful gifts for any lady in your life.

Leafy & Lovely Valentines Day Gifts

Leafy & Lovely Lip Tint Duo* £3.00

Again the packaging for these is just so sweet and pretty. I love the bold design and think the red & white work well together. The lip tints smell sweet & fruity, I like the scent. They come in pretty metal tins that are ideal for keeping in your car or on your desk. You get two lip tint shades Coral Pink and Sweet Berry and they do give your lips a touch of sheer colour. The pink shade gives a little more colour than the berry. They look glossy and pretty on the lips, although I wouldn’t say they are particularly hydrating. I think this duo would be a cute gift for a friend or girlfriend this Valentines Day.

Leafy & Lovely Superdrug Exclusive Brand

The Leafy & Lovely Valentine’s range at Superdrug also has a beautifully scented candle, bath fizzer, manicure & pedicure sets and a pretty cosmetics bag. Lots of cute gift ideas and they’re all £4 and under. Let me know if you treat yourself or receive any Leafy & Lovely treats this Sunday.

Kaffe Fassett Collection for Heathcote & Ivory

Kaffe Fassett Handcream Trio

Kaffe Fassett Products

Kaffe Fassett Collection for Heathcote & Ivory

So this year Heathcote and Ivory have teamed up with Kaffe Fassett for the latest collection called ‘Achillea’ and I think these products make just the sweetest gifts (especially with Xmas just around the corner). Kaffe Fassett is one of the world’s greatest practitioners of contemporary design, his passion for colour, his fascination with texture and his love of flowers have all found expression in an extraordinary body of work that includes textile design, knitwear, needlepoint, rugs, garden design, mosaics, ceramics and painting so this collaboration with Heathcote & Ivory is pretty exciting, the patterns are bold and the classic Achillea scent is beautiful and timeless.

Kaffe Fassett Handcream Trio

The collection includes a line of body products including hand creams, body washes and body lotions which are all beautifully packaged in the bold bright floral design. The collection also has some gift sets and a gorgeous cosmetics bag and drawer liners and beautiful candles. So the collection is pretty big and has a great selection of products to keep for yourself or for gifts for the women in your life.

I have been using 3 products from this Kaffe Fassett Collection for Heathcote & Ivory and have really enjoyed them.

Kaffe Fassett Collective Hand Creams*

Which come packaged in a lovely box with a pretty floral pattern and you get 3 good handbag sized hand creams. Each hand cream comes in a squeeze tube with a different colourful floral pattern, all three are feminine and very pretty, The scent is the same for all three and is has the Uplifting scents of bergamot, orange blossom, musk and oleander. So not overly floral and the scent of Bergamot is slightly masculine which I really like.

It leaves my hands smelling great and feeling soft and nourished too. These creams have some great skincare ingredients to help keep your hands feeling smooth and looking their best. Using Active levels of honey and rise, enriching sea butter and pro-B5 blended together to give your hands a real treat. These creams also has sunflower seed oil which helps keeps your hands hydrated and slows the flow of water from the skin.

I have passed a tube on to my mum and she loves the scent too.

Kaffe Fassett Make Up Bag

Kaffe Fassett Heathcote Ivory Collection

Also, I think the stand out piece from the collection in my opinion is this beautiful Cosmetics Bag*. The pink is so detailed and pretty, it makes me feel like its Summer when I use this. The quality is incredible and you can fit all the makeup and skincare you need for a long weekend. I like that the top opens up wide so you can find exactly what you need quickly because it has a structure frame opening. Its also lined with bright pink material which is OK with me!

Kaffe Fassett Makeup Bag

I was also sent some Scented Drawer Liners* from the collection which I didn’t open for a while because I just thought who uses them any more but curiosity got the better of me & to my surprise they smelt so good. Its the same scent as the hand creams with notes of bergamot, orange blossom, musk and oleander. I must admit I was a little quick to judge, I do still think drawer liners are quite an old-fashioned product but I have put a couple in my laundry basket and my bathroom smells a lot better. I wouldn’t rush out to purchase them myself but if you know someone that uses them these Kaffe Fassett ones do smell very good.

Monu Skincare

Monu Skincare

Monu Skincare

MONU Moisture Rich Hydrating Mask* £22.50

This is one of those masks which doesn’t set which I do like because they don’t go tight on the skin which can often feel quite drying. This has a thick cream texture and it feels very cool on the skin, I apply a generous layer with a makeup brush and leave it on my skin for at least 15 minutes. I remove it using a warm damp cloth & it leaves my skin looking refreshed and bright. This is a very good mask for the colder months because it contains geranium essential oil which is great at calming the skin and I get very red skin in the colder months so this will help a lot.

MONU Instant Radiance Brightening Boost* £22.50

I have used this product before and liked it. I thought it helped brighten my complexion it is aimed at more Mature Skin or those that have Sun Damage but I think it can be used by people of all ages and It’s an ideal product for people with dull complexion as it leaves your skin instantly smooth and looking radiant. It gives your skin a good boost of Vitamin C to help keep it looking radiant and evens out your skin tone. I also think this wears well under my makeup and helps my skin look radiant all day long. Its nice and lightweight but quite hydrating too. I have enjoyed having this back in my skincare routine.

MONU Hand and Nail Cream* £11.95

This is a very rich formula and I found it a little too thick, it might be better if you like your hand cream to feel more like a treatment or if you used it overnight so you wake up with very soft smooth hands. I like to put my hand cream on throughout the day and this was a little too heavy on my hands. I wasn’t too fond of the scent either, the scent is Lemongrass and Lavender so it is relaxing but I thought it was a little too intense. I did pass this on to my Mum who said she likes it, so every cloud!

MONU Line Smoothing Skin Perfector* £22.50

Oh I really really like this product, it says it is a cream but it feels more like a serum. I like that it feels so lightweight and gives your skin an instant smooth velvety soft appearance. It promises to tackle imperfections to enhance your skins natural appearance, I think it does a great job at making your skin look healthy and glowing. It has soft focus technology and it blurs / smooths imperfections and reflects the light making your skin look wide awake and fresh. I don’t always like my skincare to have a scent but this smells like a luxury spa and that would be the Bergamot and Neroli essential oils, two of my favourite scents.

MONU Active Collagen Eye Patches* £26.95

These baffled me at first I’m used to these having the product already on & they adhere to your skin but these were dry & I was like ‘what am I meant to do with these’ but I figured out that you have to dampen them and pop them under your eyes. I got there in the end. I love using eye patches / masks and find them a really effective way of reviving tired eyes and these Monu ones were very good at plumping that area & giving it an instant boost of hydration. I suffer from very dehydrated skin under my eyes and I love having using eye masks a couple of times a week to help keep the skin looking revitalised and smooth. These are individually packaged so you can through a pack in your makeup bag when you fly and they stop you getting off the plane looking like you haven’t slept for a week!

Monu Skin Types Chart & Colour Coding

I think the Skin Perfector along with the Active Collagen Eye Patches are my favourite products from the line up! I was also surprised to see just how extensive the MONU skincare range is they have so many products to suit every skin type. I also like that they have a simple colour coded system so you can see what products / ranges are most suitable for you by the colour.

Let me know if you have tried any MONU products & what you loved and would recommend.

MONU products contain no damaging chemicals, artificial perfumes or synthetic colours and they are 100% cruelty free.
