Being in my mid 40s, this Age Defy+ trio is ideal for replenishing and nourishing my skin as well as targeting the texture and dullness. I have been using the products for a little while now, and they have become a really welcome part of my evening routine.

Firstly they all smell luxurious, with soothing scents of mandarin, palmarosa, geranium, lavender and neroli, each product is a little pampering at home spa treatment, very nice indeed. My evening skincare routine has become somewhat of a wind down treat after a long, stressful day.

A lovely creamy textured cleanser that is fantastic at removing makeup, I have been using it as my first evening cleanser, but you can use it in the morning too. Now this is the latest product to be added to the age Defy collection and of the three products I have tried it is the stand out product. This mask is a blend of natural fruit extracts that deliver 5 gently exfoliating AHA’s to the skin. Long gone are those harsh abrasive exfoliating masks that do more harm than good, now we have access to gentle, natural exfoliators that deliver results, mush kinder for the skin. This mask gentle removes dead, dull skin which helps smooth your complexion and give you that healthy glow. It promotes cell turnover which over time helps your skin rejuvenate, have increased hydration and become softer & smoother

A lovely, nourishing, not too thick night cream that acts like a face mask whilst you sleep. I do enjoy a product that is intensive and that you see results from toot sweet, you genuinely wake up with smooth, plump rejuvenated skin. The fresh, scent of this sleep mask is also so nice and relaxing.

Best used 2-3 times a week after you have cleansed and exfoliated, as this aids the absorption of the mask. This has been such a luxurious pampering product for my skin after such a long Winter, I feel like my skin is getting its natural glow back just in time or Spring/Summer.

Antipodes Skincare Review

{The products in this post have been gifted} Antipodes are a lovely brand who are very focused on the environment and harnessing the power of organic plants and natural ingredients. The entire product range which hails from New Zealand uses sustainably sourced, fresh ingredients and combines their incredible ingredients with extensive scientific research to create effective results orientated skincare. Their entire range is organic and many products are Vegan friendly.

I have previously tried the Blessing Oil (which is a fantastic oil for combating and protecting skin from the effects of pollution) and the Avocado Pear Night Cream (which is incredibly hydrating, soothing and helps to keep skin blemish free) but the other products are brand new in my collection, and I thought I’d let you know how I’ve been getting on with them.

Antipodes Devine Face Oil (vegan)

A wonderful oil for reducing the visible appearance of fine lines, sun damage and uneven skin tones. It is jam packed with so many incredible ingredients, including Avocado Oil helps, Rosehip Oil and Macadamia nut oil. This trio of oils are known to boost collagen and help keep skin looking youthful, refreshed and glowing. A really nice product to add to your Autumn Winter skincare regime as it will help combat the dry weather with its nutrient rich ingredients (packed full of antioxidants) and stop your skin looking dull and tired.

It has a lovely lucid, oil consistency, it is so easy to massage into your skin and it feels so luxurious and instantly nourishing. It has a beautiful floral/botanical scent, which is the Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Sweet Orange, they are a nice combination and I find it quite an uplifting and soothing scent. If you’re looking for quite a rich face oil to use over the colder, dry months then this could be just what you need.

Antipodes Rejoice Day Cream (vegan)

A lovely lightweight, non oily day cream for anyone that has sensitive skin. The gentle formula will not irritate but sooth and enhance skins natural hydration whilst protecting, healing and nourishing. It is a cream with quite a few benefits, thanks to the nutrient rich, skin loving ingredients. Avocado Oil will hydrate, plump and rejuvenate skin to reduce those fine lines and refresh tired looking skin. Whilst Manuka Flower Oil has anti bacterial benefits that will protect and soothe skin and help keep it blemish free. This is a great cream to wear under makeup (as it’s an non oily formula) and even though it is lightweight it is still very effective and you will physically feel your skin is softer, smoother and it will also look visibly vibrant and healthy.

Antipodes Worship Face Oil

This face oil is designed to combat the effects of free radicals, environmental damage and stress on your skin. It is a great oil if you live/work in a city or are worried about the early signs of ageing, this product will help protect and defend skin with its wonderful combination of New Zealand grown superfruits. The include Boysenberry, blackcurrant, kiwifruit, Vinanza grape extract, açai and coffee cherry.  So this lightweight, water based serum is going to rejuvenate, protect, nourish and give your skin that daily does of healthy antioxidants. It is easily absorbed and gives your skin a protective barrier against harmful pollution and it is also great at brightening your complexion and combating dryness.

Consumers are becoming more aware of how they impact the environment (I know I am) and we are seeing more brands offering vegan products and becoming more sustainable, organic and carbon neutral. I love trying new skincare and there is nothing more satisfying than discovering a small, more indie brand which really blows you away and that is how I feel about daycol. This is a brand that a friend of mine introduced me too and she has incredible skin so I was excited to see how it would fit into my skincare regime.

Daycol are a British skincare brand founded by Annette Heard and she has developed a range that focuses on using lovely organic ingredients to ensure our skin is well taken care of.

Daycol Derma Face Polish

I have been using the daycol Derma Face Polish for a few months now and I’m quite tough when it comes to reviewing face scrubs because they’re my favourite step in my routine. I like how a scrub can leave the skin feeling smooth and give it a healthy radiance but that said I also hate a scrub that is unnecessarily abrasive so this product had a whole checklist it had to meet.

This face polish has a cream-like consistency and the scrubbies are tiny pieces of Volcanic Rock which are fine enough to exfoliate away those dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling smooth and promote a healthy radiance. I like that it’s not at all rough or abrasive on the skin (so it well and truly ticks that box).

Formulated with daycol’s own infusion of Bioderma3 Complex to include;

  • Apricot Kernel Oil- Apricot Kernel Oil is also high in vitamins B1, B2, B6 and beta-carotene. It has a luxuriously rich texture and is used to soften delicate and dry skin
  • Coconut Oil – Naturally high in vitamins A and E coconut oil will protect against the harmful effects of free radicals.
  • Avocado Oil – A rich source of omega-3 fatty acids (similar to those found in fish oil) it is also high in sterolin which has been shown soften skin and help prevent age spots. Avocado oil is also rich in the antioxidants vitamins A, D and E, making it useful for healing sun-damaged skin and lecithin and potassium.

So this lovely creamy face scrub feels really luxurious and after using it my skin is soft and radiant. It really feels like it makes light work of removing dead skin and you do not need to scrub your face – just gently massage into your skin allowing all the cocktail of skin loving ingredients work to their magic.

I am so pleased to have discovered a brand I haven’t heard many people talking about. Daycol has a small but well-rounded selection of products and next on my must-try list is their Ultra Rich Marine Collagen Moisturiser which sounds wonderful.

Samaya Skincare Product Range

I’ve been testing out the Anti Ageing Cream from the Pitta range* (£89) and it has been such a lovely addition to my skincare regime. This moisturiser is absolutely jam-packed with fantastic skin loving ingredients which leave my skin feeling soft, soothed and radiant. It does have a very strong botanical scent which I found to be quite relaxing but just to be aware it is pretty intense.

This cream has such a lightweight consistency, it felt instantly hydrating and throughout the day my skin continued to feel really soft. To me this product does feel more like a serum than a moisturiser because it is so fluid and almost disappears on the skin. So you don’t get that greasy, slippery feeling that a heavy moisturiser can often leave behind.

The list of Ayurvedic botanicals and clinically proven anti-ageing ingredients included in this product is so extensive. It is easy to see why my skin felt and looked amazing whilst I was using it,

  • Jasmine Flower Extract – Beautiful aroma with proven mood-boosting effect; improves energy; reduces anxiety and stress; helps to balance moisture levels and increase skin’s elasticity while soothing mind and body; antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help protect skin.
  • Neem Oil – Promotes skin healing; helps reduce itching and roughness; purifies skin; neutralises damaging free radicals to help skin achieve a radiant glow.
  • Lotus Seed Extract – Sacred anti-inflammatory ingredient; contains zinc and anti-ageing enzymes which can repair damaged or sensitive skin while soothing and calming the mind; beneficial for blemish-prone skin.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate – Salt form of hyaluronic acid, this naturally derived anti-ageing ingredient has intense hydrating qualities (can hold more water than any other natural substance – up to 1,000 times its weight in water) which help boost skin’s elasticity, contributing to smoother skin with decreased wrinkles and a fuller appearance.
  • Gotu Kola Oil – Anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing herb; helps fight chronic skin conditions by repairing damage done to the skin; stimulates collagen production in the skin.
  • Saffron Extract – Valued for its skin toning abilities; can impart a natural radiance as it helps to reduce pigmentation; has mood-enhancing properties; is considered to be an aphrodisiac and is often used as a tonic to improve general health.
  • Shatavari Extract – It has long been used as a tonic for female health concerns and as a means of reducing stress and tension. Shatavari also has nutritive and rejuvenative properties for skin, contributing towards a renewed, youthful appearance.

  • Ribose – Naturally occurring corn-derived pentose sugar; promotes skin cell metabolism; helps alleviate wrinkles and fine lines; helps keep skin toned, firmer and more radiant.

I really like that the Pitta skincare focuses on healing, repairing and soothing which is so up my street and exactly what my skin needs. Over the past 7 weeks not only have I seen my uneven skin tone improve but my skin looks and feels radiant, smooth and dare I say it well-balanced. So this Anti Ageing Cream gets a thumbs up from me – I just wish the price tag wasn’t so steep.

Samaya Pitta Cream

SAMAYA are a premium skincare brand and they use key, concentrated ingredients to ensure it delivers results. I’m not 100% convinced by the dosha side of things although I think that is more because I don’t fully understand it all, but In terms of quality and results, the skincare is fantastic and well worth looking into.
